FAQ
Do I have to dress up and what should I wear?
Hmm, now let me think – yes! Forcing everyone at the end of my whip to don their best fetish, goth, or fantasy outfits really does make the whole night special. Costumes are a great talking point, provide terrific entertainment, and you never need worry about being overdressed ‘cos everyone is! A handful of people unfortunately slipped past the door staff at our first party but this hasn’t happened since then. And as for what to wear, well, what’s your fetish? Think goth, twisted, fantasy, uniform, medical, futuristic, cyber, body art/decoration, burlesque, showgirl… and yes, bare bums or boobs are fine – but no private bits please.
What sort of people go?
Judging by our first ball, everyone we want to! All of you with that certain distinction: fetishists (of course, and of all varieties), goths, crazy clubbers, gays/lesbians, transvestites, swingers, subs, doms, BDSM enthusiasts, those with wicked piercings or tattoos, wizards (yes really)… and any curious people new to this sort of thing as long as you’re open-minded and tolerant, polite and just want to have good dirty fun.
Can I play in the dungeon?
Unfortunately you can only indulge in light play, as the venue isn’t licensed for nudity or sex on the premises. Spank is primarily a dance and dress-up party, not a sex event. But of course you’re quite likely to meet play partners there, and you can always invite them home for naughtiness afterwards – not that we condone that sort of thing, oh no.
What rules apply to dungeon scenes?
Be sensible. Don’t interrupt a scene or touch anyone without asking permission. If people say no it means no; any harassment, verbal or otherwise, will result in your being asked to leave the club – no excuses, no refunds. Please don’t use the dungeon furniture to sit on as people may be waiting to use it but too polite to ask you to move. Ask if you’re not sure how to best use a particular piece of furniture, most people are only too eager to help newbies!
Where is Gilkisons and where can I park?
Gilkisons is at 45 Murray Street, Perth (cnr Irwin) – the quiet west end of the street, so you won’t have to worry about battling through crowds. There’s some street parking and a large above-ground car park only 50m down the street. But if you need or want to change in the club, you can use the restrooms or find a quiet corner away from curious eyes.
Can I take photos?
We say no to bringing cameras and camera-phones into the club as some partygoers want to protect their privacy. Our photographers, Nigel Etherington and Wayne Henry, are always on hand to take pics (with permission from partygoers); please contact Wayne via http://warped-photography.com.
